Our Garden

We expanded our garden this year (I know it's nothing compared to yours, Dad) and it is really starting to grow.  It has been kind of tempermental this year.  I had to dig up a section of corn and replant it because it wouldn't grow. And then I have found that beets and carrots are wimpy weak little seeds, so who knows if they will survive.  Curse you vegetables!!  But, all is well, I spotted a corn sprout yesterday.  We have planted peas, potatoes, zuchinni, cucumbers, tomatoes, asparagus, carrots, beets, corn, beans, peppers, and jalepenos.  Yum!

Here are some pictures of the treadmill in all it's glory

Treadmill

This last weekend we got a treadmill.  I am so super excited.  I am planning to train for a 5K run.  I haven't signed up for one yet, but I hear that there is a website that posts all the runs in Utah, so if any of you know what the address is I would love to find it.

Birthday Girls!

Ashly and Melanie both had birthdays last week, so my mom treated them to Ross. Melanie couldn't come, so she got a gift card and Ashly made a pretty good haul after trying on a million different things.  That poor guy working at the dressing room didn't know what hit him!

This purple shirt was her favorite. Happy Birthday Girls!!

This last weekend I went down and made strawberry jam with my mom and sister.  We had a lot of fun and made a TON of jam.

It was pretty easy to be honest, it just took a little while.  You start by cutting the strawberries and then you puree them.  Then you add sugar, pectin, lemon juice, and corn syrup (not necessarily in that order), and stir it until your arm hurts!

Graduation

I graduated last week! It feels so good to be done! I have a degree, crazy, I know. The actual ceremony was not that exciting. It was kind of anti-climatic to be honest. I skipped the university ceremony so that it wouldn't be so long and so early, but the college ceremony was pretty over-rated. They didn't even announce us graduated, or have us switch our tassles from the left side to the right side, or even have us throw our hats into the air. To make things even more exciting, I accidentally walked down the wrong ramp after I got my diploma and had to backtrack back up the ramp for the whole Spectrum to see. Not everyone can be as poised and graceful as me. Bummer. It is great to be done though, and it was worth having the family come over to hang out and have dinner! (And yes, I am holding my diploma upside-down in one of the pictures. Poise, remember).
